We try to run trains every Sunday at Butterley. Though our best attendance is after 1.30, some of us try to get started before the first train runs on the Midland Railway. During the winter this becomes quite a task as track and points freeze. Meths and coal fired engines run easily but gas fired engines suffer from frozen fillers and blocked jets once the temperature approaches zero.
